Woman stabbed to death three years after her only daughter was brutally murdered in Ondo
A 52-year-old woman, identified as Yemi Ajayi, has been stabbed to death by unknown assailants at her residence in Akure, Ondo State.
It was gathered that the deceased was the mother of 20-year-old Oluwaseun Ajila who was brutally murdered some three years ago in Ondo state.
In 2018, Oluwaseun was stabbed to death and her boyfriend, Ebenezer Adejimola, was arrested in connection with her murder and subsequently arraigned in court.

10-year-old girl hangs herself after being bullied in school over her race and for being autistic
A 10-year-old girl, Isabella Faith Tichenor, has committed suicide after being bulled in school over her race and being autistic.
According to her mum, Brittany, she was picked on by her school mates because she had autism and dyslexia, while her granddad, Gregory, said she was also bullied for being black.
Brittany said the abuse was reported to the school in North Salt Lake, Utah, U.S, but no action was taken to protect her daughter.

She said;
“As any parent would, we reported this abuse to her teachers, the school administration, and the district administration, she told a press conference.
“Nothing, nothing was done to protect Izzy. Children did not have their behaviour corrected so the torment of this child continued day after day.
“You really wouldn’t have known she was going through that.
“So that was the hardest part. She must have really internalised this.”
The little girl’s grandmother, Paula Harris, said they will now be Izzy’s “voice” to fight against the problem of bullying.
Harris said;
“We are going to be Izzy’s voice, we are going to ring the bell as loud as we can because we are going to stop this bullying. That little girl had spark, that little girl had hopes and dreams.”
A press conference was organized to address the issue and the Tichenor family alongside the PTA representatives of Foxboro Elementary School were present.
Speaking with 2News, a parent, Breanna Larson said, “Everyone has a role here in this failure, and everyone has a role in the solution. It is on the parents, it’s on the students, it’s on the teachers, it’s on the administration.”
Izzy’s grandfather, Gregory Tichenor told the Sun: “My daughter went to the teacher and she went to the principal and nothing was done. This has been going on for months and nothing was done. It was both verbal and physical.”
He maintained that he thinks Isabella was racially abused and was called the “N word” by other kids.
“We think this was racially motivated. This is what they do. This is their make up but it needs to change,” he maintained.

Ikoyi collapsed building: Female corps member who redeployed from Borno to Lagos confirmed dead
A member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), identified as Zainab Sanni Oyindamola, has been confirmed dead in the 21-storey building that collapsed in Ikoyi, Lagos state, on Monday, November 1.
The lifeless body of the 26-year-old corp member who was serving with the construction company in charge of the project, Fourscore Homes Limited, was recovered from the rubbles on Wednesday, November 3, shattering the hopes of her mother and siblings who had been waiting at the scene for good news.
Reports have it that the young lady redeployed from Borno State to Lagos State due to the rising insecurity in the Northern part of the country.

It was gathered that she was one of the six corps members deployed to the construction company. However, the others managed to escape on that fateful day, while the deceased was trapped in the debris, Daily Trust reports.
A source who spoke with Daily Trust from NYSC confirmed that Oyindamola was the only corp member who died in the sad incident.
“Oyin as she was fondly called was a 2021 batch B corps member who was originally deployed to Maiduguri but got a redeployment to Lagos after the three-week orientation,” the source said.
A family member, who spoke with newsmen at the scene of the collapse, said the deceased resumed work at the construction company about three weeks ago.
“She has been coming here since then. We don’t even know why they sent her here. She was originally posted to Borno but her mother redeployed her. If we had known, we would have allowed her to continue her youth service in that state.
“We asked her not to go to Borno because of the insurgency but she went there for the three-week orientation and came back alive only to come and die. She was a very humble and respectful girl, she would greet everybody when she arrived from work every day. She is the first daughter of her mother and they are just two.”
Friends and colleagues of the deceased have now taken to social media to mourn her untimely demise.

Twerking: “Our degrees are for students with good character” – UNN
University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) has said it set up a panel to investigate the recent viral video involving its student twerking half-clad, insisting that it will only offer its degrees and certificates to students “found worthy.”
The university reiterated that it would not condone indecency and other morally reprehensible behaviours from its students.
“UNN degrees and certificates are awarded only to those who have been found worthy, both in character and in learning,” added the statement.

UNN’s spokesman Okwun Omeaku disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday.
The university explained that the panel would investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident, noting that the panel’s report would guide further action to be taken by UNN on the issue.
“The management of UNN, as a result of a recent viral video in social media, involving un-clad female student twerking in front of Akapbio hostel, has set up a panel to investigate circumstances surrounding the video,” the statement explained. “Further action to be taken by the university on the issue will be guided by the findings and reports of the panel.”
According to the UNN statement, preliminary findings revealed that Mirabel Obi, a first-year female student is from the Department of Medical Laboratory Science.
“We urge the general public to disregard reports that the affected student had been suspended or expelled. The public should also ignore any comment suggesting a pre-determined punishment for the student, as she will be given fair hearing by the panel,” it added.
Ms Obi had accused the institution of harassing her and destroying her belongings.
“I wasn’t expelled. I repeat. I was only harassed without being heard from. The authorities badged into my hostel and ransacked my properties,” the embattled UNN student lamented. “A lot of my properties have been damaged, and some are nowhere to be found. How do you invade someone’s privacy?”
The embattled student also insisted that she had the right to twerk.
“Twerking has nothing to do with my academics as you can’t make become a medical student in UNN without passing 300 and above in your JAMB,” she argued. “I am still very serious, and I know how to balance my social and academic life.”
A viral video showed her twerking in a bodysuit during a dance competition for N30,000 last week.
The video enraged the Dean of Student Affairs, Edwin Ogechukwu Emeje, who vowed to expel her for soiling the university’s image.
However, Ms Obi has dismissed Mr Omeje’s remarks, insisting in an Instagram post that the school lacks the power to expel her for twerking.
She added that it was in no way a violation of the school’s rules and regulations.

According to the parties, the signed deal will offer unlimited benefits to communities that do not yet have access to internet connectivity.

“This is also in line with the Federal Government’s desire to extend broadband coverage beyond urban and densely populated areas. Millions of Nigerians will, therefore, have access to communicate and transact business with the communal provision of internet access by Globacom in these rural areas”, the company said in a statement.

Specific areas of the country that will benefit from the Glo-powered Eutelsat Konnect deal are Remote Northern/Middle-Belt communities, southern offshore locations, farm ranches, and factories/businesses far from townships where access to internet/terrestrial networks are a challenge

A pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Ola Ogunfuwa, and 22 of his workers are reportedly trapped under the rubbles of the 21-storey building that collapsed in Ikoyi on Monday.
According to a report by Punch, the clergyman who is in charge of the Living Water Parish in Ibafo, Ogun State, was said to be working as a contractor on the project and has not been heard from or been identified among those rescued or brought out dead.
Ogunfuwa’s friend, Omotosho Shola Emmanuel, who confirmed this, said the church is praying and hoping he’s rescued alive.

“I am here this morning because one of my pastor friends is working here, he is an engineer. He came with about 22 people all the way from Ibafo (Ogun State) to work here; labourers, bricklayers, welders, about 22 different guys that came together with him to work on the project.
Till now, out of those that have been rescued, we’ve not seen any of those 22 and he himself is still there because we learnt that yesterday (Monday), at break time, he came out to eat but as he was about washing his hands to eat, he was summoned by one of his bosses and he went back inside but about five to 10 minutes later, the building collapsed and he was trapped. He is still there now and we pray that God will have his way upon those still there.
As a church, we prayed all through yesterday night and we’re still believing that there is nothing God cannot do because we know that people are still many there, they said they are over 50.
The ones they’ve rescued are not up to 10, definitely we are still expecting more people to be rescued,” Omotosho added, praying God will bring more survivors out.” He said
