Just like the international music scene, the Port Harcourt Music Industry is flooded with the male gender. Many, however, are unaware that, the Port Harcourt music industry is also blessed with hot, talented and successful female artists doing well in and out of the city. In that note, we decided to feature the most successful and hot female artists in the city in 2019.
- Azaaa the Firequeen: Azaaa is a beautiful singer signed to Uptown Records. She has a hot single and video titled Moni currently aired in all major radio and TV stations across the country. As reported earlier on this blog, she was billed to make a song for a new TV station launching in December named Teen Africa Television; as a follow-up, she has also been specially invited by DSTV Africa for a one week all-expense-paid trip to Lagos for the launch of the TV station. Azaaa also performed in the just concluded Yibo Koko Seki cultural event held at the Terra Cultural Arena in Victoria Island Lagos. The Talented singer held her Afro Invasion Festival in October with a follow-up track titled Burn Down featuring OBI. - KessyDriz: After her hit single last year. KezzyDriz came through with a juicier and hotter single in January this year titled Opuwari. The Idahams produced hit was warmly received and had positive reviews, as a matter of fact, it was featured on Nekx Music for several weeks. Small but Mighty as she is fondly called, also had a successful concert tagged “1 Night Stand” at the Platinum Club, Hotel Presidential, Port Harcourt in June 2019. In October, Kezzydriz performed alongside Denrele and other A-list African stars at the Independence Peace Concert held in Asaba and hinted about getting a new deal though it’s yet unknown if it’s an endorsement or record deal. She’s also nominated on three categories in the GMAs
- Jikume Bethlehem: The beautiful songstress who is currently promoting her Oshikiri Concert set to hold in December is having a great year with her career after she released her debut single in January titled Shine On produced by Akeem da beat and premiered the video in June, directed by Kobo Lash.
- Peak Henry: Self-acclaimed “Queen of the city” rather had a bit of a rough year after her breakup with EOne records and the scandal of not owning her hit song, Alive. In all that, the beautiful singer and dancer came through with a hot tune two months ago titled Fetish. Fetish is constantly spreading like wildfire and is sinking deep into the heart of every music lover. Peak Henry had headlined a few minor events and is currently working on a new song with Chimaga.
